Nekoosa Youth Baseball/Softball Association Guidelines

All guidelines will be followed by all coaches, players and spectators

 

Each athlete and coach will be held responsible for any equipment lost or misplaced that has been issued to him/her.

All injuries must be reported to the supervising coach immediately.  All injuries should be reported to the Association as soon as possible.

All athletes are required to travel to and from away games with coaches and/or parents.

Any athlete or coach who is involved in a criminal charge will be brought before the Board of Directors for consideration of his/her standing.

We expect all athletes, coaches and spectators to respect the judgment and decisions of all officials and umpires, the Association can recommend dismissal of an athlete, coach or spectator if it feels the attitude and/or conduct is detrimental to the team or the Association.

No smoking or chewing tobacco will be allowed on the playing fields during games or practices.

Repeated instances of profanity, horseplay, temper tantrums or other instances of undesirable conduct will not be tolerated.  This includes athletes, coaches, parents and spectators.  For the first offense, you will receive a warning by the Association.  The second offense will be grounds for disciplinary action. 

All complaints relating to a coach or player must be received in writing and signed by the complainant to be considered.

Losing is not the same as failure.  Teach your players that losing a game does not reflect on their self-worth or mean a personal failure.

PLAYER CODE OF ETHICS

 

Players will practice or compete to the best of their abilities at all times

 

Players will work to their ability academically.  This means each player will strive for academic excellence in each subject and will meet or exceed academic standards set forth by their school or parents

 

Players will be on their best behavior at all times and will not use profanity or any other in appropriate verbal or physical gestures at school, practice or games

 

Players will practice good sportsmanship at all times by showing respect for all their team members, coaches, officials and opposing team members.  WIN OR LOSE !

 

Players will not question the officials or coach’s judgment or honesty in public and will respect their decisions

 

Players will refrain from using drugs, tobacco or alcohol at any time.  Violation of this rule could result in immediate and permanent expulsion from the Nekoosa  Youth Baseball/Softball Association programs

 

Players will treat other players, coaches, fans and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed or ability

 

Players will remember that Baseball/Softball is a TEAM sport and will participate as a member of a team with the benefit of the TEAM as their primary responsibility

 

Players will follow the rules of the Nekoosa Baseball/Softball Association at all times

 

Players will not show hostility or jealousy for any of their teammates because they hit more runs or get more playing time
